Central Committee   The St. Charles County Democratic Central Committee represents the Missouri Democratic Party in St. Charles County and performs such functions required by the laws of the State of Missouri, the Charter and By-Laws of the Democratic Party of the United States, and the Constitution and By-Laws of the Missouri

Democratic Party    The Central Committee promotes the interest of the Democratic Party and its candidates over those of the opposing candidates and political parties. The St. Charles  County Democratic Central Committee meets the 1st Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Democratic Headquarters at 235 Jungermann Road in St. Peters, MO (upper level). You need not be a member to attend but voting on formal issues is restricted to elected or appointed members.  Contact Tommy Roberts, Central Committee Chair at 314-280-0944 for more information about the next meeting.

The St. Charles County Democratic Headquarters came into existence during the early months of 2008 campaigns and it became a hotbed of activity for the Obama and Nixon operations.  It was also campaign central for all of the other Democratic candidates for the House, Senate and County Council races in 2008. With the support of many formerly “non-political” and now newly energized Democrats in St. Charles County, we plan to keep this visible presence of our party as a permanent office and meeting space.

Faith Will Jump Ship If It Suits Her---To Heck With Her Constituents

ST. CHARLES - St. Charles Mayor Patti York's bid for a fourth term next year could draw opposition from state Rep. Sally Faith.

Faith, a fellow St. Charles Republican, confirmed Thursday that she's considering running for mayor.

She emphasized, however, that her attention now is focused on winning re-election to her House seat in the upcoming Nov. 2 election.  She said she'll decide on whether to enter the mayor's race at some point after that.

Faith, in a brief interview, offered no criticism of York and said she would stress her years of experience in state and local government if she ran for mayor.

Faith, 65, has been a House member since 2005 and is running for her fourth and final term allowed under the state's term limit law. Previously she served 10 years on the St. Charles County Council and on the St. Charles Community College board.

St. Charles has no term limits for municipal office so there's nothing to bar York, 58, from running again. City elected officials in St. Charles run on a nonpartisan basis.  The next mayor will be chosen in April.

If more than two candidates file, a primary in February would narrow the field.

To retain her House seat, Faith must defeat Democratic nominee Paul Woody of St. Charles County.

Woody, 30, a lawyer, used to be an aide to Bob Holden when he was governor and also is a former House Democratic staffer. Libertarian Bill Slantz of St. Charles County also will be on the ballot.

Candidate Forum at St Charles Democratic Alliance

On July 14th at the regular second Wednesday meeting night, a fine line up of the Democratic candidates for State Rep was welcomed by the Alliance members and many interested voters.  All the candidates or their representatives gave outlines of their battle plans for the next thre and a half months.  Our candidates in St. Charles county know what their voters are concerned about this year and they are listening.  They will go to Jeff City in January and work hard for Missourians by focusing their attention on what really matters right now. JOBS, EDUCATION AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY.  In attendance on July 14th were: Dick Trueba (12th). Vickie Boedeker (13th), Kyle Meadows (14th) Paul Woody (15th), a rep for Debbie Bixler (16th), Kenny Biermann's wife (17th), a rep for Gary McKiddy (18th) Matt Simmons (19th)

The room at the St. Charles Justice Center was filled with familiar faces and many newly interested voters who want to know what the candidates have to say and to meet them personally.  The Alliance will meet again on August 11th, as they do every month on the 2nd Wednesday,  The meetings are held at the St. Charles Justice Center on Zumbehl road.  For any details or questions about the Alliance call at 636-219-1387 or 636-272-8160
